15 August – INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA
On this unforgettable and deeply cherished occasion, I wish to give voice to the emotions that arise from the very depths of my heart as 15 August is one of the most significant and proudest days in the history of India. On this day in 1947, India gained independence from nearly two centuries of British rule. Therefore, Independence Day is not merely a national celebration; it is a solemn occasion to remember the courage, sacrifices, and struggles of the countless freedom fighters who devoted their lives to the nation.
This day reminds us of great leaders and patriots such as Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Chandrashekhar Azad, and numerous other known and unknown heroes who fought for India’s freedom. Their lives teach us that freedom is not only a precious right but also a profound responsibility.
Today, it is our duty to preserve the unity, integrity, peace, and harmony of our country. We must rise above differences of caste, religion, language, and region and place the interests of our nation above narrow personal considerations. Through honesty, discipline, hard work, education, compassion, and responsible citizenship, each of us can contribute to India’s progress.
On this Independence Day, let us honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and pledge to uphold the values of democracy, justice, equality, and unity. Let us work together to build an India that is stronger, wiser, more prosperous, and peaceful.
Jai Hind!
